Description:

Sam Carew is a bricklayer with ambition. Working with his father as a bricklayer is not the life he envisioned when he left his cushy job as Detective Sergeant to seek out more than petty career criminals and delinquent youths. Unsworth is not the most exciting or picturesque of towns, either: in fact, Sam Carew might be tempted to say that dropping a bomb on the place would cause about $18 million worth of improvements. But Sam’s determined to inject a bit of glamour into proceedings?he’s going to become a private detective, a gumshoe on the mean streets of Grimsby. His first case? Easy. Overhearing a former colleague, PC Owen Price--a known womanizer--in a café, Sam decides to check out his movements. Some might call it snooping, but not PI Sam Carew. And when he sees Price surreptitiously pass some videotapes under the table to his companion, Sam Carew knows he has his first big case. He’s just not sure what it is yet…
