Chris Ntombemhlope Reid
| Chris Ntombemhlophe Reid was born in Zimbabwe and went to school in Cape Town. He received a Bachelor of Science in Horticulture from the University of Pretoria. After a successful career in Johannesburg, in 1992, he moved to the Transkei. There he received his calling to serve the ancestors as igqirha (sangoma) and he apprenticed in Pondoland where he learned the very ancient traditions, medicine and magic of the amamPondo people. He graduated as fully-fledged igqirha after three years of study and today lives and practices his craft in Cape Town and at his homestead in a remote ancient Pondoland valley which is the inspiration for the setting of this book.
